UHC is raising rates by 11% in June. Cigna is raising rates in May. I was shocked to see that Cigna's Plan G only increased 7.4%. They are still the lowest cost in my area.

The problem with Cigna is they are selling their Medicare biz at years end. The second I tell my T65's that, they move on. Humana only went up 4.5% yesterday, I think.
I called a husband/wife July T65 today and told her the new 11% rate increase for UHC. I said, you'll save $700 a year with humana. I'd do that.
She still wanted UHC so I wrote the apps.

People want the name. It won't matter.

I still don't understand why Cigna takes so long to issue an T65 medsupp. Seems like it's a week minimum. Maybe this is how they keep people from making them their go to ? and somehow that helps them?

Cigna is the worst mapd company out there but i had no choice but to write 50 or so with them as in a few county's their was no choice . They have the absolute worst agent portal in the business . They took 2 weeks to approve many mapd's for me . They don't pay you for 1 month many times on new mapd business . They make many mistakes on apps . Another very scary thing is they don't alert you on disenrollments . I had somebody disenrolled 1-31 that i rewrote with another carrier . It's still showing active in my book 2 months later

UHC increase was 11% for N,G,F and hi G in Fl which was surprising. The other states i checked N and G was the same increase and also about 11% . Someone needs to alert that You Tube agent who like to scare people away from the plan G because of the huge increases vs plan N

Cigna has always been my absolute last choice for MAPD's.....well, aside from WellCare, who is dead to me for reasons you all know.

As you said, their agent portal is absolutely atrocious, although I'll give them a minor bonus point, as it has gotten better the past few years, but still sucks.

Their network for their PPO's is also terrible. The company is run like absolute garbage. It's like a who's who of participation trophies and quotas. I could tell that right from the get-go.

The management team were sending out constant emails of their rules, regulations, and procedures for a few years in my state. All of them had a threatening tone.....didn't appreciate that at all, and wrote other companies as a result.

A lot of "Make sure you do it this way or you're gonna get written-up" type stuff. It was wild. Not exactly a great strategy to keep brokers writing your company.

It was astoundingly stupid. They were typing as if they were talking to employees. Newsflash, we brokers are independent and don't have to write anything for your garbage-@ss company, so be nice.

Capisce?
