From the Mouths of Babes

Would you rather have 120% and $30 direct mail leads? Or 100% and $15 Facebook Leads?

  • 120% because I prefer new fresh direct mail leads

  • 120% because I can generate my own Facebook leads

  • 100% because I'm not great at math

  • 80% Because I can recruit my stupid friends at 70%

  • 70% because that what my friend recruited me at

  • 60% because I just found this forum today

  • 0% because I'm not greedy. I only work to make friends.

I had a newer agent call me today and figured out a real simple math problem but he gave me credit for thinking of it at the genius level which...I let him keep thinking it.

Like many he is new and signed up under a guy who is under a guy who is under a guy and this guy is at 70% commission on his FE companies. And he buys his own leads but they are mainly junk B-leads and are $10 each.

His NEW buddy is trying to recruit him to be under him at 100% (going the right direction) and he wants him to run Facebook leads UNTIL he can afford weekly direct mail leads.

Here is where he thought that I designed something very clever. He has been told that he needs to be writing $3,000 every week of annual premium. And he needs 20 direct mail leads per week to do it. His favorite companies are Americo, Oxford, MOO and Foresters which he noted would be at 20 to 25 points higher with us or other agencies that start agents at those levels. Compared to his new buddy trying to start him at 100% even on those same companies. So 20 points on $3,000 premium is exactly $600 per week more.

Now 20 leads per week at $30 per set cost lead is exactly $600. So he thought I came up with those number to work out exactly so that 20 leads per week at 120% would basically be like getting his leads for free compared to his buddy's offer at 100% (where he still has to buy leads.)

So of course his next question is: can you just put me at 100% and give me the leads for free?

Nope! That would be cheating you because you are going to be writing $4,000 weekly. Or cheating me if you don't work out.

But I like his way of thinking.
