I was talking with another fellow agent yesterday and we started sharing war stories about selling final expense and the demographic that we market too...to a make a long story short, it was hilarious! I love talking to other agents and hearing their entertaining stories about the people they meet and the experiences they have had.

I was in a trailer in middle Missouri meeting with a couple who live on 2 acres....Very nice people and by the end of the meeting I was coming home with a bucket full of fresh quail eggs, homemade canned strawberry preserves, and a bible...

The relationships we build are amazing and you never know what is going to happen or who you are goingt to meet.

I would love to hear some good stories from you guys selling final expense...I know there are some good ones out there!!

You are spot on about the relationships we build in this industry. One of my first clients back when I was with Banker Life (Please lets not go there) was a couple that had retired from Dexter Shoe, the husband spent like 40 years there and the wife 30+.I had thier Long Term Care and Medicare Supplements and they had a couple of issues and I would go out to see them face 2 face to solve them. I ended up inviting them to my first wedding (once again something we don't need to go into).

Well one day they called me and asked if I could come see them. I was already going to be in thier area and had some time. So I get there and the husband is like come with me we get in his truck and drive to the Dexter outlet and he tells me that when they were employed at Dexter they would get these coupons good for a free pair of shoes every year for each of them. He handed me vouchers dating back to the 70s and told me they wanted to thank me for all I had done for them. I explained they didn't need to do that but he instisted.

That has not been the only time clients have wanted to send me home with baked goods and other small thank yous...And to think we get paid to do this. Those types of clients help keep you focused when dealing with the jerks :)

Classic, that is a great story!

As we progress through the next generation, these types of stories are going to change dramatically! Its nice to know that the actions of those people are 100% genuine. People need our help and its our job to help them!

I was in Arkansas last year and came back to the hotel with a birdfeeder and a knit hat. She wanted me to stay warm, and give the birds at my house a place to stay warm too!!

I don't know about the next generation. My main focus is employed teachers so 21-62 years of age. I have many clients that are appreciative of the time I spend with them explaining what to them are complex things into something they understand.
