Hey everyone!
My name is Ray and I'm 26 and live currently in Fresno, CA. I went to school here and majored in Business with an emphasis in information systems. Since then I have made my living fixing computers, developing websites, and managing websites for small businesses.
One of my clients is an insurance broker. After a few years of working for him and learning the business a little he expressed interest in me possibly taking it over. Sounds great doesn't it? Well... he was retired and is now back in the game. Servicing accounts, paper applications, and driving out to see every client and delivering policies I can tell has become a thing of the past in this industry. Modern day technology eludes him and that's where I fit into the picture. We sell mainly group health products here in CA and will probably start tapping into the individual side with a website I made.
Some days I feel like I have little to no direction, and the company needs to be built back up again because he did not retain much of his business during retirement. So I don't want to be guided into ways of the past, but advance and take the company in a new direction. Which is what landed me here at insurance-forums.net. I just want to learn and be mentored by others and be a technical resource for those as well. In my profession you can't just know technology, you have to really know the business. Otherwise, you may just create a way for someone to be more efficient at doing something wrong. Hope to talk to EVERYONE here at some point in time.
Current status: Now a Licensed CA Life Agent.
