GMA for P&C

I am an experienced broker and thinking about doing business in CA. Can anyone recommend a few reliable General Managing Agency for P&C market in California that has fast quoting turnaround time? What about for commercial insurance? I hope to find one that I can quote on the insurance directly with several competitive carriers and get instant quotes. I used superior access and found the turn around time to be extremely slow, especially in commercial. Haven't tried Insurance Noodles yet, but it looks like they only do commercials. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Instant quotes on commercial is a dream. The risk has to be analyzed. Okay, if it's an office policy, no big deal, I can usually quote those without running the numbers.

A decent size risk requires someone looking at the risk. If you are shopping it, it takes several people looking at it. This takes time. It also makes you look credible if you do your job correctly.

Mr. Prospect, I'm here today to collect the information on your business. I'll submit this for a quote to several carriers. They will have an underwriter look at it. This is done by a person so they can actually look at the risk your business presents. This helps to make sure you get the best rate possible. I'll be back in a week to 10 days to present the quotes to you (larger risks, 30 days).

The last company I worked for had (2) inhouse underwriters. I would get the pertinent information from the client. Fowrad the form to the underwiters. They would quote it, and if needed- bind the coverage that same day. That was soooooo nice. Now I'm stuck on my own having to wait the 7-10 BUSINESS days to get my hard quote or bind from a GA. Man I had it good there....

I know what you mean. I was a captive agent when started out many years ago, and was able to quote P&C and commercial same day on-line. This was one of the advantages of those big captive companies, but the limitations overpowered these conveniences and I always had to turn customers away due to pricing so I went independent. I am hoping to find carriers that I can quote and bind P&C on-line, for commercial 3-5 days are acceptable in my experiennce. Anyone else can provide info on these kind of non-captive P&C and commercial carriers in CA?
