Greetings fellow agents,
I'm restarting my insurance career after a nearly 2 year hiatus from the financial services industry. In my previous incarnation as a registered rep, insurance was ancillary to the duties of being a securities broker. My registration became active in August of 2008 and no sooner than my registration became active, my Broker/Dealer became insolvent and the SEC sold its corpse to one of the 4 remaining large TARP banks. Then Lehman was liquidated which started the market spiraling downward and with it my securities career. After taking some time off, I rekindled my mortgage loan origination career. However, now with the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, I'm scrambling again to find an autonomous source of income. Hence my re-entry into Life & Health insurance. I look forward to meeting new people and learning from this group of seasoned veterans.

I was also thinking this poster's experience is proof that the government is trying to take over everything.

Thank you gentlemen for the warm welcome here on IF. As far as me personally being a "bellwether" of reform, I cannot say with confidence that I am not. Sadly, it is very evident that the "powers that be" are grabbing as much of the economy and power that can be scooped up during their rein.
