Health Care Blues in the Pentagon

The Pentagon's rich uncle, Uncle Sam, will raise the money from China, or simply print some greenbacks to keep our national security strong, regardless of how expensive the Pentagon's healthcare budget becomes. Is Tri-Care on par with the average civilian's group health plan? Hope so. I have a soft spot for my fellow members and veterans of the world's best military.

Emotion always trumps logic.

I appreciate our veterans too, I know I wouldn't have been cut out to serve. But something tells me that most retired servicemembers who get Tri-Care can afford a slightly higher deductible, co-pay and premium.

Also, you start to get on a slipperly slope. If it is ok to provide people better health care because they served in the military, then isn't it ok to tell an 80 year old he can't get hip surgery because he's "human life value" is too low.
