Well, I guess I should have first posted here for introductions. I've already made a few posts and have lurked in this forum since last week, reading many many forum threads. It's good to read and learn from this source.
I have been in insurance since 2003. I came from a hotel background and wasn't happy with limited income potential, basically I was #2 behind the owner and I wanted to be the owner. Not going to happen unless I buy my own hotel.
So Insurance is me 2nd career at the mere age of 30. I currently work as an Account Manager in a P&C office that does writes mostly earthquake insurance and my generous, yet aging boss has allowed to do other activities besides his own book. I dabbled in real estate, became a RE Broker and did some REO's, but nothing great. Then realized, there's no residuals in real estate unless I owned rental properties.
I've always like insurance, seeing how it protects people's lifestyles and always eager to learn new products. My recent discovery was Primerica, which is a novel concept of business building, but very difficult in terms of production and promotions. I needed to recruit more and more in order to get higher contracts. Therefore, that company wasn't right for me. Unfortunately, the product wasn't insurance with Primerica, it was their opportunity. I didn't want to sell the dream.
Lately, after reading this forum, I've decided to keep pursuing the health and life areas. Being that there's a lot of information here and alot of people willing to make their comments (good or bad) it's all helpful.
Looking forward to contributing more to this forum.
Thanks for reading.
