Hello from Connecticut

Just joined and want to say "Hi to all". I am nearing retirement - next year - and I want to do something useful and productive. I'm not looking to make buckets of money, but would like to supplement my retirement income. I'm studying for my license exam. I am a certified General Real Estate Appraiser, but don't want to continue in that profession. I have sold in the past, and have had success. Is there anyone on the forum from Connecticut? Would love to chat over coffee and get some direction.

Regards to all

Hal

I'm from Bridgeport,Connecticut.

Welcome!

I can answer some of your questions in the open forum or in PM.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to have a F2F casual chat during AEP or OEP. (Ends 12/15.)

Thank you Alston; It's hard for me to ask the good question cus I am just getting into this arena. However I guess a good question would be can you recommend a good company I should "go with" as a start, where I can receive good training, and leadership. I spoke with one company awhile ago and I got the feeling that they were only in the business of selling leads as a revenue stream. Right now I am doing an online study for my license test. Hopefully I will take the exam in 2 weeks.

Regards

Hal

Do you know what line(s) you want to sell and/or what people you want to serve?

I help 64 year olds onboard into Medicare.

I work with other lines and other demographics, but that's where I focus.

I don't spend money advertising other products or to other demographics. (At least not for cold traffic. I occasionally reach out to existing clients to ask about life or other products.)

I do get referrals for other ages and other product lines.

But I believe that it's easier to be come an expert if you focus. It's also much easier to position yourself as an expert if you focus.

My primary interest is in FE life. All the TV advertising is making people aware of the need and solution(s) for the expenses, so I think it will be easier to sell rather than have to convince people that they have a need.

He nailed it right there.

I don't know much about FE, but little by little I'm getting better at marketing.

Do you have a marketing plan?
