Hello everyone,
Just wanted to post a quick intro from another new member. My name is Tina and I am re-entering the world of insurance after a 12 year absence.
Long story, short version; If you've ever heard of the term "young & dumb", that was me back then. Young, dumb & impatient. Had my L&H and P&C licenses, worked 3 years underwriting then jumped over into the selling market, got impatient with it, did not keep up with my CE...so, you guessed it, lost all licenses. I am in no way calling all young people dumb, this is just my story & I was young & dumb for allowing that to happen.
Anywoo, I am back and am trying to decide whether to begin as an Independent or Captive Agent. Is there somewhere I can find out the pros and cons of both. I do realize that it is somewhat a personal preference, but I would love to get some feedback from some of you veteran agent/brokers and what your experiences have been with being Independent -vs- Captive. TIA, Tina
