Hello everyone! I am glad to be a part of this forum. I have a lot to learn. I just passed my L&H exam and I am not sure where to go from here. I have absolutely no prior experience in insurance. Where should I start? I am so afraid that I am going to get ripped off some how. Which insurance brokerage firm would be good to hook up with? I would like to work from home, but I will obviously need training. I spoke with someone at EFinancial. Is this a good brokerage firm. Has anyone or is anyone an agent with them? What should I be expecting commission wise? Also, they have a lead system and the leads are $28.00/lead and they are exclusive, not shared. Does this sound good? Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

TX,

What lines are you marketing in NC that is HOT??? Moving into insurance is a late, late career change for me and I'm trying to get into the right lines from the start. I don't have insurance experience but I do have years of experience in sales.

I introduced myself on the forum about a month ago. I now have my NC L & H license and working / studying for the Med/LTC care (separate license in NC). I should be ready to take the Med/LTC exam in about 10 days

My main interest is Health first, cross-selling Life. I've read on this forum and heard locally that BCBS is the 800 lb. gorilla in NC health plans, owns the lion's share of the market and requires it's brokers / agents to offer their plans exclusively.

Any advice on the HOT insurance categories in NC would be appreciated...I'm trying to avoid starting off in the wrong direction, collecting licenses and wasting time.
