Well, I've spent a couple of months preparing. I've been reading these forums since October, studying for my life and health exam (passed -- woohoo!), getting my contracts and appointments together (thanks, Health Choice One!), and ironing out the last bits of details to begin selling health and life insurance independently full time.

And now, with this past Friday as my last day at my 8-5 desk job, I'm sitting in front of my computer, database ready to go, coffee in hand, getting ready to call the first name on the first list.

Nervousness!

It is perfectly normal to be nervous. One call at a time and do not hang up the phone. Keep the phone on your ear and use your finger to hang up. One last tip: Always smile; this may sound stupid but I will actually laugh at loud while teaching new agents how to cold call. Good Luck and go get'em

Welcome to the forum. I love have more GA people on here. I'm sitting here now drinking my sweet tea.

You are in my neck of the woods, let me know if you need help with anything.

Just take it one call at a time...the feeling will pass and you'll be making deals before you know it. Just stick with it.
