I try not to write anything other than checking or savings. If you push them hard enough most of them do have accounts; you just have to pry it out of them. That being said, when I do use the direct express cards I really haven't seen or had many complaints or issues.

Lets face the facts here. We can usually tell when we are working with dead beats. When that's the case I have a tendency to just get up and walk away. When you write people like that your going to have problems.

If someone gets SS direct onto a DE card AND has a bank account? Yea, I write TA to draft off the DE card. Your asking the person to make an extra step that generally won’t happen on time.

I was referring to people who insist upon paying by direct bill. If handled properly, they can usually be converted. I don't have many problems with Direct Express cards.
