;)I just recently applied for my temp license with Liberty National and I have no idea what I'm doing! lol My history is this......I have lived payday to payday for all of my adult life. I have 3 children, stayed home some and then went to LPN school and worked as cna for several years off and on. I constantly think about money, or the lack of it actually, every waking moment I live and even in my sleep I'm sure. Years ago I went to Real Estate Class..passed class and never took exam, don't know why. I despise clocking in, I despise being told what I can earn weekly. I've never considered myself a "salesperson" really. The "real" me would rather walk by you without a word......but I don't. At work I am very sociable with patients and families. And I'm somewhat of a "flirt". lol So when I brought this up at work people were not shocked at this and I didn't get the "Oh you can't do that", except from my Dad, but that's a different story all together. lol When the man at Liberty told me that if I worked at insurance sales that I could possibly make over $100,000 a year I was set on fire then. I still have doubts inside but I am so wanting to try this. I just found it in the want adds a couple of weeks ago and didn't give myself time to "think".........anyways I'm rambling!lol Nice to meet you all. And I know the approach I want to take in this..........Know my product very well inside and out and present it and let them decide what is best for them.........just like nursing, the patient has that right and I just have to "encourage" them to use it in the best way to their advantage. I will continue with my nursing part-time so I don't starve! And if yall don't see me in 6 mths you know I was one of the ones who "didn't make it".....there I go being negative lmao.........have a good day and nice to meet you!

why is it that it is always $100,000 the starting salary for insurance agents when it is rarely the case....

Nurse,

Welcome to the forum. I will not go into any detail about Liberty National at this time but encourage you to review the thread on them. There are a lot of companies that will give you a "pie in the sky" story about how much money can be made - fair warning = take your time before committing to any of them.

You need to start reading as many and as much of this forum as possible right away! There are numerous forum members that will be available to assist you in any way possible. Take your time! You have a ton of information to learn and absorb.

Good Luck - We'll see you in the threads.

Hi thanks for responding. Yeah I know the "100,000/yr" part! He said "I could possibly"........he also told me he made $32,000 his first year....and other making sometimes less. That's why I'm staying part-time 3 evenings a wk with nursing at current job! I know I may be setting myself up but I just want to give it my all......just to see. The "unlimited" just does something to me.

Sounds like you have the proper foundation. Follow your heart, study and post to this this forum, you should do fine.

You can make six figures in this business. You can do it without working a lot of hours or working very hard.

God bless you if you can do that in the first year. It took me a long period of time where I worked a lot of hours and worked very hard before the job became easy or very profitable.

Some advice from a 21-year veteran:

Set your life goals before you set your business goals.

Plan your work and work your plan. Study your results. Review your plan. Repeat.

Work as hard as you can your first few years. Listen to advice from the veterans, but think for yourself. Don't let thinking for yourself stop you from testing a few ideas that have worked for others but don't make sense to you right away, so long as you see a limited downside to doing so.

Good Luck,
