I have a well established L&H agency, but started the P&C side about 8 mo.ago. It has a small book of about 80K. We only have 2 P&C carriers (were relatively easy to get, after getting the E&O). I am considering hiring a fully licensed and experienced producer for the P&C side in order to expand and so I can focus on the Life side. I know that getting the agency appointed with some preferred carriers might be very hard due to the lack of experience, and frankly not so good Loss Ratio. This producer is appointed with some of the preferred carriers, most likely thru her current agency/employer. Can I use the employee's experience when I apply with these carriers? I assume that her appointments will be terminated once she leaves the current agency.
