How Do You Push the Auto with the Home Package?

Gieco is killing me on preferred auto- when your rate is not better (or a little higher) what do you say to push the package? What's your script? :goofy::yes:

I think I write too much monoline home.

All you can do it push the discount on the home. It's pretty significant so compare package vs package instead of auto vs auto.

Try to get their dec page. Most of the time the insured has no idea what they currently have so you may be quoting preferred coverage and GEICO may be giving them bum coverage.

Make sure the idiots aren't confusing GEICO's 6 month premium w/ your 12 month (happens all the time, people are dumb.) If you have a powerful home rate (but the auto is slightly more..) just said they MUST do the car insurance.

Force their hand.

I've been called out like 5x in my 10 year career in this. BUT...don't put that in writing to them & steam roll them. That being said...I rarely have a situation where my auto is actually more. I'll have auto prices that are just marginally less or the same price...but rarely 'more.'

If they're shopping rate you gotta have a better hook than rate or they will roll right over you for the next lowest rate.

If they won't do home I tell them its to their advantage to have one agent giving them advice for their asset protection.

If they smash into their garage chances are the pay only one deductible if it's with the same carrier.

Quote the PACKAGE price. Because you may be higher on auto but lower on home and your package price is less expensive.

Raise the home deductale to 2,500 and educate them on why making minor home claims aren't to their advantage.

Focus on how claims will be settled. Also ask who they want to deal with when a situation comes up and they need an advocate.

I also hear people who switch to me from Geico complain about Geico's billing.

Typically, I see serious coverage issues in Geico policies. Point out the value of a local agent.

Follow up with them on their x-dates. Ask if you can add them to your newsletter. Drip on them and catch them down the road.

The vast majority of my mono line home clients bring over their autos within 3 years. I rarely lose the home to their auto carrier.

Typically, I write a monoline home and don't get the auto due to driving history rather than price.

Don't make an unenthusiastic presentation thinking you won't win the deal because they are with Geico. The clients you really want will value your professionalism.

We don't push it we position it correctly. We focus on closing the home then once they are settled and closed we focus on the auto. We try not bringing up any more obstacles before closing.

I have an email explaining coverages and saying the price includes the bundle discount. Then I list the items needed in order to complete an auto quote. I mainly use it w/ the "a" clients. I don't use it for every one.

I let them know that if they want just a home quote I only have 3-4 companies that will do a monoline home policy, but if they let me quote their auto I will be able to give them 10 options and a greater likelyhood of a better price for both.

Talk to them about the frustration of dealing with a 800 number employee for service and how you have to talk to a different person every time you call.

Show them how you're an advocate for them and not a company employee.

Let them know that as their IA you will be able to re-market their policies as needed to make sure they always get the best value for their $

So many great tips and strategies ! ! Definitely going to push a little harder for potential clients to send or bring in declaration pages. Thanks!
