I've got a case and surveying the market, I find these guys to be significantly less than "my" best current carrier: $181 vs $223 per month.

Also would seek info on Great American.

Problems? Issues? Contracts?

I don't do a lot of med sups, but, most of the ones I do in Ky, I put with Family Life. They have the best rates and since they ask 5 years of medical history, I think their rates will stay more stable. Who really knows about that?

I haven't had any issues with them as far as agent service. No customer complaints about them, but, I don't get customer complaints about any med sup carrier. I was using Admiral and UW prior to Family Life. Family Life came to Ky last June and their rates were just better than those.

I've seen the rates for Gerber here and they don't beat Family Life. I have a 23% commission with Family Life. I don't know if I could have done better or not.

jdeasy: are you appointed in NC?

I have something to offer her but it is 30% more expensive than FL and I can't in good conscience do it. I will get appointed with FL but the process will take to long to get her relief.

If not jdeasy, anyone else licensed for MS in NC. I read somewhere that you can do medsupps by phone with FL. She is in the New Bern area if not...

No, I'm not licensed in NC. FL does alow phone sales, though. Somebody should be able to take care of that for you.

Family life is ok..they have an office about 40 mins from me in Houston
The only problem I have with them is they seem to take 3 weeks to issue my case which are Guarantee Issue :/ . They answer the phone when I call so that is a good thing lol.

My experience with Mike White products is that the rates come in ultra low in an effort to "buy up" the market. Then the larger than average rate increases come.

Wakely does the admin which also handled Shenandoah and RNA. I never had any issues personally with Wakely, but have heard complaints from other agents.
