How the PPACA Will Affect Medicare ? And the Agents Who Sell It - Medicare - Agent's Sales Journal

NOTE: If the link doesn't work or requires a fee, maybe I can post the entire article. It's from Senior Market Sales, Inc.

................................................................................

From the article...." Unless the regulators place minimum loss ratio requirements on Medicare supplement and other supplemental plans, Medicare supplement agents may be the big winners in all this..."

and....."Our Take: The minimum 80 percent loss ratio for individual products affects the under-65 market and Medicare Advantage market, but will not apply to plans that supplement original Medicare. We predict the doctor fix is in—whether temporary or permanent. Congress will make sure the reimbursement rates are increased after the health care reform dust settles."

Very interesting article.

This question I have been asking myself lately is...Why aren't Medicare Supplements factored in any of this YET? Until we know how the MLR is calculated it's anybody's guess.

There are a bunch of mathematical geniuses in a room right now trying to figure out how to move money from the right hand and put it in the left.

I'm tired and busy helping pregnant women get coverage and other people enroll in the new Obama Plan. Apparently people are supposed to purchase health insurance BEFORE they decide to have a kid. Who knew!!!!

Joking aside, in later news....

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

I haven't been very active in voting before, but I'm definitely going to change that soon!

it is an interesting article and has some good points. imo, it is probably more truth than untruth. i dont know Dwane personally and dont deal with SMS, but i wouldve liked to see them use a more impartial author for the article.

that's like the ben and jerrys ceo telling us ice cream is good for you. i want to believe it word for word, but have to consider the source.

Obama keeps saying the Medicare actuaries are too pessimistic. In the past, experience has either proven them correct or too optimistic. Obamacare is a sure loser.
