HSA and MEC Question for the Gurus

Did I miss something? Can you use a MEC to establish a HSA in a group setting?

Not that I know about. An HSA has IRS-regulated maximum deductibles and out-of-pocket. Technically, this qualifies as MEC. But semantics is involved. When you say "MEC" for large group you usually are refeerncing a low-benefit plan with much lower benefits than an HSA would allow.
