HSC in Lockdown Mode?

I have heard from a reliable source that HSC (parent of Blues in IL, TX, OH) is forbidden from speaking to the media about potential changes in policies post 9/22.

Also heard no one can run new rates or access marketing materials.

Any truth to this?

I understand that brokers in FL cannot access BX rates or sell BX plans until 9/23. You can run current rates but apparently the client needs to sign a waiver that the actual rate will be determined post 9/23. They also have 16 new plans that are going to be made available.

Basically, FL BX agents are dead in the water until 9/23.

it is indeed true. Anthem has not posted 10-1 rates but is accepting applications (Yes...I said that!).

Rates should be out soon.

So you can apply, but you won't know what the rates or benefits are until AFTER you apply.

Sounds like, "we have to pass the bill so we will know what is in it".

Everything works just fine in TX.

No problems with quoting or marketing materials.

In fact they sent me the new brochures only the other day.

I will say though that the rates do seem to be fluctuating.

If I ran a quote last week for a 10/1 start date this week the rate is different again.

As of 1:45pm CST the Blue Cross of Illinois website is not showing what plans are available. They're probably in some type of interim update mode where the old plans have been removed and the new ones are not up on the site yet.
Ref: Plans for People Like You ? Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois

BCBS-IL last updated the agent stand-alone quoting software in 12/2009. No quotes beyond June 2010 are/have been available with this desktop software.

Also, I just now received a "Special Broadcast" e-mail from BCBS-IL saying that we are not to talk to our customers about anything because the company will not be telling us anything until they're ready. WHAT?

Just received the same message as Allen and came to post.

Wonder what the hell that's about?

The Illinois Blue Cross plans are back on the website and look just like before. Must of been a system glitch.

What's interesting is that the premium increase for children on a family plan is neglible. I just ran a quote for the most expensive child.. a female less than 12 months old. She cost just $142 per month and will have all the "freebies" of post 9/23/10 Obamacare.

In case anyone wants to tinker around, here's the quote link for the best plan in Illinois, Select Blue: SelectBlue Quote

If Illinois families need health insurance, NOW is the time to get it, in case the children prices suddenly skyrocket like they already have in some other states.
