I Love Polls! Health Care Reform: Favor/Oppose

Looks like America wanted it, but is realizing it might not actually be good the way things have changed. 2012 might be even crazier than 2008!

It has always been a perfect storm where you have the majority of the people opposed to obamacare. So if the republicans came out with anything that even looked like a plan you could do a one-two punch and switch them over to something more reasonable. So far, they are too stupid to do it.

Pollster.com: Health Care Plan: Favor / Oppose

It has always been a perfect storm where you have the majority of the people opposed to obamacare. So if the republicans came out with anything that even looked like a plan you could do a one-two punch and switch them over to something more reasonable. So far, they are too stupid to do it. Their strategy to date has been to just keep whipping up and confirmng opposition to obamacare and, by jove, they are going to stick to it.

What do the polls show for public support or opposition to the alternative plans? Nevermind.

Then they run the "risk" of people ridiculing their plan. IMHO, I feel that it's more of a risk (long term) for Repubs NOT to have a plan.

I have to agree with you. I think it's a terrible system in the sense that politically it's a good move for them to not have one, but I'd rather they actually put one together. For most politicians it's more about putting their ego to work than actually serving their country.

Oh. I think the usefulness of not having one has rather come and gone. The polls show that people are against obamacare but they also show that people want some kind of reform. So you force people to choose between a goofy plan or no plan at all.

The proper move was (and there is no monday morning quarterbacking here, I bitched as loud as I could) for the Republicans to let obamacare self destruct as it had by January 1. And then announce a summit WHERE THEY INVITED THE PRESIDENT to discuss next steps and to review the republican plan.

But no. Way too strategic for the frigging idiots so Pelosi kcked their teeth in. Shame on them. Shame on the whole frigging dumb-arsed lot. Now they are wondering "I wonder if we should have a plan by the time the elections come up." Yeh. Why dont you frigging think about it for another year. Just flaming unbelievable how they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory just because it required a few brain cells to outmaneuver Pelosi.

Washington needs to come up with IDEAS. We'll let them know what we want, but they need to quit putting all of their eggs in one basket. Everyone is SO AFRAID of getting called out for an idea they had that they just don't say anything.

We know what people want....
1) affordable medical care even if they have preexisting conditions
2) affordable medical care for kids

That's it. That's what we want. Put it together and put a price tag on it.

The above will take "unlinking" employers from healthcare (which should spurn job growth), tort reform, and a way to encourage people to use community health centers instead of emergency rooms for routine problems.
