Hi all,

I'm brainstorming ideas for an auto insurance ebook and wondering what topic will be most useful to people - the end auto insurance customers.

Things like how to save money on auto insurance, steps to buy...etc has been beaten to death, so I need some fresh ideas.

The ebook will be given away for free and purely for brand awareness.

Appreciate your input.

Thanks!
Amy

Who would buy this when they can search online for it, for free?

You can go here and get it ALOT for free.......now wether this info is right or wrong, the people reading it dont have a clue, thats why they are reading it.....AGAIN, it is FREE.

Yahoo! Finance - Personal Finance | Insurance

How many NON-Insurance people want to buy an insurance book?

As mentioned, the ebook will be given away totally free in exchange for email or contact info. Just need some ideas that would appeal to average Joe.

Again, why would anyone read it? They depend on YOU, as an agent for this info, if they "knew it all" already, they would probaly call an 800 number.....

Not trying to bash your idea, but how many people would want it.

the down side to a free e-book is that potential customers are well aware that if they download your e-book, their email acct. is going to blow up with solicitations (I've never seen a free E-book download that didn't require an email address).

so, knowing that.... they'll do one of two things:
1. not download your e-book at all.
2. they will download your e-book but use a dummy "throw away" email address.

either way, you have almost no chance of contacting them. Not to mention that a quality e-book takes quite a bit of time to create. Thus creating a blog would be a better idea, IMO.

What about an ebook about insurance scams or something negative about insurance. Negativity usually gets more attention. Look at any news network or take rba for example

eBooks are a great marketing tool.
I'm not sure of any great 'new' ideas, but I'm not sure you need to have one. Try doing one on claims handling.
Do one on why use an agent vs an 800 number
Do one on your state and insurance (most are way to generic)

It really doesn't matter. Doesn't even matter that people give you bogus email addresses.

The idea is to build some marketing kred, and to have some tools available to help prospects and clients.

Agree...use topics that aren't already beat to death.....flood, motorcycle, getting the best possible settlement, getting your claim paid faster....things that appeal to greed, selfishness, etc:1biggrin: those types of topics are the highest "hits" on our blog by a longshot

Agree with 1manshow, the more detailed the better. It is difficult to compete with sites like iii.org that publish in-depth reports, like this one: iii.org/insurance-handbook/

Negative what?

You tell me, who isnt in insurance, wants to read about auto or home insurance?

Now the comments about gearing the ebook towards scams, I like that one,
