What are the options for becoming an independent Property and Casualty agent? Is it only doing Commercial work? Can you do Fire and Auto somehow as an Indy? What is the structure of who you sell to and who you sell for as an indy P&C? By the way, is there some reason this forum is removing my spacing in my posts? I can't seem to indent or space paragraphs?

Don't know about the spacing bbbuuuutttt. You have to join a cluster to gain access to P&C carriers.

You might want to work for an agent or so for a few years till you have some experience and the money to open your own place.

Smart choice, Iroquois Group, SIAA... but seriously if you don't know and dive into this, you will be diving in shallow water. Better to work with an agent first.

That is the direction I am going. But I am thinking of staying as a p&c sub agent if I can find a good agency. Because I want to stay focus in Retirement and Life insurance planning.

Go2 you might want to work for a captive agency like one of the big five. Most of the big five focus on life insurance since its a requirement to keep there contract in force.

Good luck kid

Thank you for your suggestion. I am set right now with one of the highly rated mutual life company so far so good.

I just found an agency that maybe a good fit. I will learn basic p&c basics as i go along and keep my l&h stay strong.
