Ugh not having a good week...

When do you usually get inspection recommendations report when you write a new policy? I received one 2 months later and now their saying insured need to do repairs and installations up to 10k or they cancel the policy...

How will i explain this to the insured that by saving them 400bucks they have to shell out 10k for repairs or they lose their insurance.

The problem i see is, why did they take so long to send out now it seems like the insured is forced to do it.

Talk to the client. This is rarely stuff they don't already know and they may already be planning on doing the work. If necessary, write them elsewhere.

I don't know about New York, but in CA, they only have 60 days to finalize underwriting on the policy if they want to cancel. After that, it just goes to non-renew for the next year.

This is why, given a chance, I prefer to inspect properties before I write them. I'm usually a bit tougher than the average inspector and will have them trimming trees, fixing gutters, etc, prior to the inspection.

Oh here in NY the companies gives you 30 days to fix it or they cancel their policy on you or non renew. Ugh i tried to re write them but all other rates are giving 2x her previous price. Very hard to explain that all other carriers are charging 2x her previous price and if you want to stay with this current one do the repairs.

I cant even get them back on their previous insurance, since i dont have that carrier. What a big mess.

i usually get these inspection recommendation pretty early into the policy, never this late. I will have to speak to the carrier if they dont fix it they are doing a non renewal or a cancellation next month.,
