After exhausting the current client's referrals. I need to find out from all of you the best way to get new leads. I do not do cold calls. I spent a fortune on lead lists that were not paying back the money I spent.

So, if you have no more referral traffic, what is the next best thing?

I would suggest going out and asking for referrals. I took training on how to ask for referrals, so I get about 2 or 3 referrals for every sale I make. Of those referrals, I usually close 2. So, do the math. One sale turns into two, those turn into four, eight, sixteen and on and on. Now I am working weekends to keep up. Because of this system I haven't spent a nickel on leads or advertising in two and a half years, and I am busy.

I would suggest instead of spending money on leads, you spend it on training. I took a Polestar class. Very expensive, but very effective.

Nothing beats networking.
Aside from that, plenty of ways to generate your own leads. Why pay a lead aggregator 10 to 20 dollars apiece for a name and number they sold to 5 other agents? You can generate your own at a fraction of the cost. You just need a gameplan, and a mentor. Maybe even join a mastermind group.
Whatever you do, I don't recommend listening to the guys who tell you to incentivize quotes. Make sure you generate leads who are interested in what you offer, not who are interested in a Starbucks gift card or whatever.

I agree with Markthebroker and indienoise. It would be better if you generate your own leads. It can be either through referrals or other means like creating online content (website, blogs, social media platforms). This method can take time (relative to just buying leads) but it's far more effective and the quality of your leads would be better.

I have some material on lead generation that I would be willing to share. Send me a message.

I would start with Facebook ads...You can target specific neighborhoods, homeowners, renters, households with 3+ cars, buying behavior, have a swimming pool, the list goes on and on and on. Its cheap, clean, and gives results. You have to have a good website to convert the lead though. In order for a P&C agency to survive in the future, they will need to have a good website and be involved with social media. Gone are the days of getting enough quality clients from cold calling or buying internet leads sold to 10 other agents. Go to where your target demographic audience is...most likely they are on Facebook and Google.

My Google-fu is apparently very weak. Can you point me in the direction to learn more about this? Thanks in advance.
