Let the Games Begin!

I attended a meeting on Friday hosted by Aetna. Mostly about Medicare stuff but the conversation drifted in to health care reform.

Usually these meetings are time wasters but some carriers, Aetna being on of them, seem more in touch with what is going on than others.

The moderator kept talking about GI being a forgone conclusion and carriers were even pushing for that provision. I asked what the actuarial numbers were for GI on the uninsured.

His response was a 150% increase in risk pool rates.

I doubt if anyone in Obamington has asked for actuarial projections on the cost of any of the provisions. Instead, they are shooting from the hip and ignoring the CBO which, last time I checked, didn't have any actuaries on staff either.

The House has voted a bill out of committee. Now everything hinges on the reception back in the districts. If it gets rough, the full House and the Senate will get the message and modify it. If it doesn't, they won't.

What happens if the People say no to this and it STILL goes through? You watch, our representatives do not listen to the People because of their own agenda. And the politicians never have to face the consequences of voting against the American people because we keep voting them back in...the whole thing stinks!

The Town Hall meetings have begun. Doesn't look like the assembled mutlitude in Pennsylvania was too thrilled with Arlen Specter (is there a bigger piece of Senate "furniture" that needs to be replaced?) and Kathleen Seblius...

You would think that now that he is owned by Obama that Senator Whore would have tried to lead the crowd in a few refrains of "Yes we can." Then again, maybe not.

Even if Arlen had read the bills, which I seriously doubt, I don't think he would understand them.
