Hope this isn't a stupid question because i don't now chit about PC.Inherited house was in a trust but now currently titled in 5 siblings name and hopefully will be sold in next 90 days. Can liability insurance be bought on this property without current homeowners policy on property?None of the siblings have umbrella policies not sure if that matters.Home is vacant has a pool and is in north florida any recommendations?

Its possible, with five owners, a vacant house, and the home going on the market though - It might take as long in underwriting as it takes to sell the house, IMO.

What you really need is a Vacant Home Ins policy as @Policy Monkey said. That typically gives you some liability and property protection.,

What does your insurance broker/agent say?

They said they would not be able to do any quotes for anything right now as hurricane is on its way so i will ask next week .This was my mother's Farmers's agent who did her homeowners policy. thx for input

When did she die and what happened to that policy?

Many insurance companies will continue to remain on the insurance for the estate until the property is sold.
passed away sept 1 2023 . I believe we did stay on homeowners for the balance of term.

Have you tried Florida's state run property insurance?

BTW, I'd be more concerned with damage to the home rather than liability.

Unfortunately Citizens won't cover vacant or unoccupied properties.
