I'm strictly a P&C agent, I'm giving my life guy a shot but want to look at other options
25/m
Type 2 diabetic / smoker/6'1 240/not insulin dependent
ADHD- adderral
Let me know anything else needed
Looking for 10yr term 200k

ADHD is a non issue.

type 2 diabetes with good HbA1c control....standard plus table 2-3 at Banner. $200k - 10 year = $249-$281 per year.

Get more coverage, it will be cheaper....$250k - 10 year is $225 - $253 at table 2-3

I'm in Virginia as well! :) I also happen to be a life agent. I would love to help you out. Feel free to message me for my direct number.

If it's been less than a year, you may have some trouble getting coverage or at least getting a good price. You're 9 months into a lifetime illness, to put it in perspective for your licensing, You're 16 years old and just picked up your drivers license and you want to drive a 2 Door, no backseat, sports car. How much would that case be and why?

I am not saying don't buy insurance, might ask why you haven't yet, but if you can get it all, it will cost you till you show a few years of good control. I honestly don't know of an underwriter who would give you a standard 9 months into type II. Heck you're so young it could even be type I.

Type II myself for the last 15 years, now with a bad heart.... I count my blessings everyday I bought my insurance while I was young and fit, cause now I am old and all f'ed up. But know what? The insurance carriers can't do jack about it because I control my policies.

Good luck, sorry if I come across as a hard ass, but you're in a tough spot, get some coverage and work on your type II and see what you can get later as well, but wing walk.

Thank you for the informative response. I did have coverage and thought I did until today. I was previously with another captive company until switching recently, had my payments on automatic draft , noticed a payment hasn't come out last two months , went in to ask about it they said I requested it be cancelled (new agency owner who doesn't know me) regardless I want coverage again. I had my daughters and wife's policies rewritten to and kept mine there. But they cancelled all. Even though the cancellation letter I gave was just for my wife's and daughters. I could reinstate with them but have no desire to give them any more money .

reinstate them and give the agent of record to somebody else, if not yourself. Don't let getting pissed at the office get in the way of what could be best for you.

I worked for NYL for a decade, got sick, numbers slid and got caught in their purge where they eliminated 60% of their agent work force. Lots of reasons to hate them, but I've kept my policies all along as while an office or two may be the sh its, the policies were still good policies. Give it some thought but don't wait too long. You could even tell the carrier they did this without your consent. Think that part over.

NYL agent here:

With those stats you are considered uninsurable at NYL and I'm sure they would love to throw you off.

I would reinstate while you can. If you have any specific questions PM me.

Also, as a disclosure, changing agents results in the trailers going to the company, not the new agent. You could probably just request to the general office you want a new agent assigned for servicing.
