I've asked before, but wanted to check again in case someone has another suggestion. What companies will approve a 4 year old with DS? Heart defects were repaired over two years ago.

I believe Security National Life. Not the FE plan. I want to say United Home as well. United Heritage did, not sure if they still do.

Security Care does not ask about Downs.. Depending on other conditions may qualify for immediate benefit.. $15K (Maximum) Male/Female $12.28 .. If other problems cause graded benefit 25%/100%/75% $10K (maximum) $9.78.

I have never written anyone with Down Syndrome, but could you add him with a child rider to mom or dad's policy? Obviously, mom and dad are going to need life insurance of their own to take care of their son's needs should they pass. The child rider could then be converted without proof of insurability once junior reaches adulthood. Its worth looking into. I am ignorant in this matter, but that is a route worth looking into.

Yes and maybe.

Many times the rider is going to be answering and be underwritten with the same questions as the base. Some riders will have their own set of questions.

There are a few carriers that will allow a small child rider with few or no medical questions. United Home Life comes to mind.
