I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Watching this webinar, how are small businesses and brokers going to be able to grow their business and keep up with all of the new laws and requirements? Brokers are already being paid less now but have a lot more work to do.

Seems to me, these new requirements will push small businesses to say, "forget it", I'll just give my employees a fixed amount for health insurance to go buy it on their own. End result? More people buying through the Individual Exchanges and more people relying on the Government. Is this the first step to single payer?

I'm listening to Micah Weinberg, Senior Policy Advisor at the Bay Area Council go on about how wonderful ACA is along with the miracles of ACOs.

Also I have to ask, what role will the GAs play in this? Are they going to help the brokers facilitate all of the new requirements? Probably not.

Micah is now saying that Pelosi's comment of "you have to pass the bill before you can see what's in it" was 'misunderstood'. This is sad, watching a GA like LISI cozy up with the Government stooges is hard to watch.

The only place I can see them is in non-exchange products. Another area of concern is whether the role of the GA will be to compete and replace the broker. IMO, the GAs have all of the infratructure in place to take over the agent's role in an Exchange model.

One sign of encouragement for all of us is a sudden increase in "How to Understand and Survive ObamaCare" commercials for seminars, kits, e-books, etc. that I'm hearing on local (Chicago) radio stations.

It's encouraging because these companies are sensing that there won't be a market for their materials after November 6th. IMO, that's why they're suddenly pushing these materials ahead of the election. Make $$$ and clear out some inventory before it's obsolete.
