Locked Out of Agent Portal

My father recently passed away. My uncle had been working with him and servicing his clients. The plan was for my uncle to continue servicing them after my father's death. Today, however, the office manager found out that they were locked out of the agent portal. One company (United) has said they will get it fixed. The other company (Aegon) is saying that they will try, but it will take at least 6 months of more to get their access back.
What is the standard policy for when an agent dies? Who takes over the clients?
Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your father's passing. Please read the attached article on the Successor Agent Program with United Healthcare.

I am sorry to hear about your father. Typically, when an agent passes, a temporary producer license can be issued to a spouse, next of kin or executor of estate. A application for a temp license is needed, and a copy of the death certificate.

Here is what I found on it: http://www.ncdoi.com/ASD/Documents/Temporary License Information.pdf

Also here is a previous forum that talked about the same thing: http://www.insurance-forums.net/for...forum/temporary-insurance-license-t42385.html
