Ok. I walk into a small business, of 10 -30 employees, I asked to speak with the manager or owner. ... this is where I would like ya'll s input. I can say hey this is what I can do to help your employees with no coverage, blah blah blah. But that will end with an, ok thanks for your card I will definitely give you a call. Well, that crap don't work. You won't get a call. So question is, what's the best thing to say to the manager or owner to lock in a definite appointment time and day to go in with the laptop and close the deal with workers needing coverage?

Just ask the owner what he/she needs, and go from there. I think there are sections here at insurance-forums.net where successful agents have shared effective business prospecting and cold-calling techniques..

First, not happening just walking in and saying, "Hi...Can I speak to a Manager or owner?" You need to find out and research who is the manager and owner and contact them personally. There is "google" and I use it at my age. Then you need to make a repertoire.

Now, I'm going to guess you are younger than me, and I am not ancient. But, for Christ-sakes...read, study, and then start. This is the best advice you will get, for your age, as much as you may think it sucks. I have to literally take my young employees to the back of my office to teach them how to read, write with proper notes, research, and "spake" nice on phone.;)

I'm not writing group. I'm writing all those individuals through the marketplace

It sounds like you are doing a great job, walk right into those businesses without knowing anyone or anything about their current benefits, just ask them to sit down with you and your laptop and enroll, great plan, go for it.
