Looking to Get Started in Sacramento CA

Hello everyone!

I have been floating around this site for about a week, reading all of the post's. What a great place!

I am looking to get started in the insurance field in or around Sacramento Ca. I have 10 years of sales experience with a proven track record of closing. Given the economy right now I am in a posistion financially to take a step or two backwards to go much further in the future. I am not looking into this as a way to make a quick buck. I am looking for a long lasting career with a balance between home and work.

Does anyone know of a agent or broker in the Sacramento area that would be willing to hire someone with no experience in insurance? I am looking to get started in a customer service role while I work on my license.

I don't know of anyone that is hiring in your area. You may want to call some captive companies in your area. They may or may not be hiring.

You may also want to take some time to research the different types of insurance, and figure out what kind(s) you want to focus on selling. It really helps to focus on just a couple of products, and get good at selling those before adding a bunch of new products to your portfolio!

I have had a couple of good conversations with some nice people so far. I now know that P/C is the way I want to go. I also hold a interest in life though. I am confident that I will be able to find what I am looking for in my local area. In fact I plan on making some contacts this week.
