MA Disenrollment

A lady who I enrolled in a MA plan 1st time enrollment active date started in April 2009 wants to disenroll. I contacted Coventry talked to 3 different people and got two different answers. I'm thinking she has to wait till Nov but after talking to Coventry I'm now totally confused.

If it is the clients first time enrolled into a Ma plan they may switch at any time period during the year into a Med-supp with MOO all they would have to do if fill out a new app and submit it with proof of dissenrollment from any MA carrier. Did i mention that this action is guaranteed issue with MOO.

...and the other thing is that they have the right to "dis-enroll" within the 1st 90 days...it's called rapid dis-enrollment.

If you enroll in an MA plan for the 1st time, you have 1 year to disenroll for any reason.

Have her enroll in a PDP plan by calling 1-800-Medicare. That will take her our of the MA contract.

You might need proof of disenrollment from the MA plan to enroll her in a Med Supp on a guaranteed issue basis (or maybe not).
