Client t65 Jan 2025 and A/B starts 1/1/25. I enrolled the person into mapd plan 1/1.

He calls and wants to drop it and go original Medicare only and no pdp (no idea why he kinda went rogue one so whatever) but he wants me to help fix it.

Does he have a valid sep? Thinking he is still in IEP and has trial right but if that's the case how does he do this wout buying a pdp?

That's a good question . Without buying the pdp to knock the mapd out how does he disenroll from mapd ? Oep is over with . Yes he's in iep to buy a pdp to replace the mapd . I'd sign him up for a WellCare .50 a month pdp under trial right to knock the mapd out and call it a day . During aep he can drop the .50 wellcare

Yes the trial right applies here.

He will have to cancel the MAPD manually if he doesn't take a Part D. But the Medsupp is still in OE, so don't worry about going GI and getting documentation for it.

Do the right thing and talk him into a Part D though, he's a fool not to at least take the Well care VS plan

SEP65 is available to leave the MAPD and pick up a PDP.

why is he not getting PDP

Wellcare is $0 or close to it in most states except (NY $36) as far as I know

I just asked this question to a carrier rep with the difference being he wants a PDP. Was told he can do OEP New for the PDP and of course the Med Supp is still OEP so that's a non-issue.

In your situation, I agree with the others. First, he likely will have trouble cancelling the MAPD without enrolling in a PDP. And as others mentioned, just do the Wellcare Value Script at no premium and removes the potential of an LEP in the future.

No idea why the client is leaving or why he won't do pdp. He's being weird and won't share any info as to the why. I called UHC and they said the member can reach out so that's what he did and it worked ( I think).
