What other states offer guaranteed issue coverage year-round besides CT? I'm not talking about the restricted situations in which a consumer can get GI coverage, such as if his or her Medicare advantage plan leaves Medicare or the area. I'm talking about GI across the board, regardless of the situation.

Curious question. I can't answer it but you do understand that GI Medigap usually pays a very low commission, right?

Michigan BCBS, rates are pretty high,

New york & Conn. are the 2 states that are GI states.
Premium are a lot higher ... And you can make money with the right Insurer.;)

I can get as much as $25 from many carriers.

Volume is the key!

LOL. More like $200 for a well-priced plan G. Plus the PDP commission. The lowest monthly premiums for G are about $210.

But I sell MAPD over 80% of the time.

I feel comfortable recommending MAPD for my clients. Since CT is GI for supplement, they can switch during AEP if their health declines. The OOP max limits their cost share if they have a hospital stay before they can switch.

I can usually find all their doctors in the network of one of the $0 monthly premium plans.

Connecticut is also community rated. A 90-year-old who has had the same plan for 25 years pays the same rate as a 65-year old.
