Medicare Advantage Plans

You can go on the CMS website, and do a search. This is all "public information", and all of the companies are listed there.

Also, you can go to medicare.gov and pretend that you are turning 65. You will get a list of every MA product offered by every MA company in your area. There's great detail on each product, including rates.

The Kaiser Family Foundation website is also a wonderful source for Medicare-related information, including market share by company by state, etc. Their press releases are also a nice source of useful sales information from a statistical perspective.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently working for a company that offers a MA plan, but I'm not sure I'm liking the company. Do you have any experience with selling MA plans?

Hey, jeniker72. Glad those sites will help you. I use them a lot for research, particularly CMS and KFF. Although I've been licensed since 1968, I haven't written and app in 10 years. My primary background is Marketing VP with several large, national L&H home offices. I'm actually in the sales lead business now (VP for a large lead company), but I'm not on here to promote myself or the company -- just to share what I've learned over the last 40 years.

One of my customers is primarily a health product NMO, and they have contracts with about every decent MA company in the country. For example, when Aetna came out with their new MA plan after MMA '03, this company was one of the three NMOs Aetna chose to distribute nationwide. Every now and then I refer agents to them, and no one so far has been disappointed. I'll give you their name, etc. if you want that. I'm sure they can help you out. They pay high commissions and have a few subsidized lead programs as well.

In addition, I have a Medicare sales presentation that the few agents having it, say works really well for them. I'd be happy to send you a pdf copy of the presentation if you want. Just let me know, and we can sort-out how to e-mail that to you.

All this "Forum" stuff is new to me, so I'm not sure how to do this kind of thing without violating rules. But anyway, I'm sure I can help you with your current MA situation. Take care.....

When picking a carrier don't just compare commissions and benefits. Also look at how strong thier network is how long they have been doing it. There are a lot of here today gone tomorrow companies in this field.
