Are there any certifications that you can get to be in the senior/medicare supplement market? If not, where would you suggest I learn about this (besides just asking questions at random here)?

Depends on your state, but none in PA. However, selling MA's is a different story. Contact Frank Stastny regarding med supp training---he is the go to man. Craig Ritter is an excellent IMO, also. Mark Rosenthal is in GA, so you may wish to contact him or run it by the GA DOI.

A guy named Ron Iverson has an association, NAMSA, and offers certification for Med Supp agents. I have known Ron for a number of years and he is very dedicated to what he does.
His certification is heavy on product knowledge but he does not go into great depth about how to sell Med Supps (my opinion).
I am not sure what he is currently charging for a membership or what the additional cost is for certification. He is a super guy to talk to and I'm sure if you send him an e-mail he will promptly get back to you.

IMHO Mark sells everything and gives away a lot. Anyway he is in Georgia and I am sure quite knowledgeable about insurance in that state.
