Slower I'll bet since about June 2008 when this reform deal started? I'll tell ya what; I was going back and forth in my mind over why things are as slow as they are ... I don't think it is the economy as much as it is this "reform" issue. My friend sold 15 cars in Dec. ...
Not to rip off Morgan Freeman's character in Shawshank, but hope can be a dangerous thing. I think a lot of folks, even though they know better are hold'n out hope for a freebee ... A separate issue but i can't get over how uninvolved they are with this. One fifth of the economy and they are just sitting back waiting to see what happens ... wow. I know people lead busy lives and all but ...
Yeah, I never had real issues with their credits.
I don't know if the time is right or not with all this "pending legistlation," but I still think it would be worth a shot to try and approach PZ with a volume purchase deal collectively through this site. Think of it? As head honcho of this amazing entity, Mel approaches them with his rap ... we come in low of course fullly knowing we are not going to see $3 filtered leads, by filtered I'm talking 45 - 61 ... 2 person min. ... maybe single person age 50 min ... you'll get occaisional single parent and child, but there is premium there ... sometimes you get the spouse anyway as the inquiree only puts down their own info ... healthy of course ... If we could get them down to $4 a click ... with reasonable credits ...? Even 4.50 ...
Anyone who can't make money with that don't need to be in sales in my estimation.
They have to be hurting also?
O.K., so you don't see yourself putting up 2 large a month ... it would still work if we could get enough people on board.
It doesn't matter who is working what terriotories just as long as we do this collectively. that's the real beauty of this forum, we have agents from all over the country on here.
Think of it? The Insurance Forum Collective ...?
I just soiled myself.
The key of course is whether or not we can offer them consistent volume. I don't know what that number would need to be but ...
God bless everyone who gets all SEO happy on their own, but how can anyone expect to compete against the likes of PZ and their 200 probable websites. Sure, you'll get dribs and drabs but ... nickels and dimes.
Their infastructure is significant. We just need to get their price per lead down.
Also, to me telemarketing is not the way. A person can b.s. on the phone or online, but there is more personal investment with going online, typing out all the family info, etc. What do you have with a tele lead ... they catch someone at the right time who doesn't happen to hang up on them? Also, you have a person with at least some level of computer sophistication ... the sales process involves that usually unless an agent does "sits," and that's fine too ... it'll work for both approaches this way? Guys, think about it? Unless an agent can approach them with at least $20,000 per month, they, like all of us are going to be paying $7 for those leads.
Time is money ... we are all here at the same time ... let's leverage this?
Otherwise, we are divided ... and conquered.
I'm just say'n.

You're only going to get a volume discount when one business entity pays. In this example it would mean having a lot of agents pay Sam, then Sam pays the vendor which would never work.

Typical volume situations are, for example, call centers or very large agencies. When InSphere calls PZ and says "we'll buy 1,000 leads a day" - that's volume discount. This is like herding cats.

On top of that the vendors are looking for consistent orders. You might gather up a bunch of agents to all chip in towards a discount, 75% of them will want to cancel 2 weeks later.

Good points you make.
Using your numbers.
1000 leads per day at $4 per lead is 5000 leads or $20,000 in a 5 day week. This is $80,000 per month.
At a 1600 comittment per month we would need 50 agents on board.
Not including credits, each agent would receive 400 filterd leads per mo.
Let's see SEO tricks or door hangers pull that off?
Cha ching if you know what you are doing.
Granted, getting enough people on board is the thing. Maybe there are to many ham and egg parttimers ...?
If we could hold it together for 6 months everyone would win and the thing would lock.
Everyone would have an IFC or Insurance Forum Collective member number? Only through a medium such as this would there possibly be enough trust involved to pull it off.
I wouldn't exactly expect agents to send me the money.

With a $1,600 a month investment, why wouldn't we just start a telemarketing firm of our own? This would give us leads, and allow us to offer agents (not on this board) the ability to have a firm drumming up leads (in areas we don't already claim) to offset the cost of our leads.

We get free leads, and we are one of the few (if not only) TM firms geared only towards insurance.

And P. Sausage thought my notion was a stretch ...
Stuy, on your own that 1600 will get you $7 leads collectively maybe $4.
How can anyone hope to make 10,000+ per month in this without at least that much investment.
Flyers, door hangers, cold calling, ... yeeeeah.
We are not going to get free leads babe.
I'm talking about a collective volume based financing agreement. Keep the idears com'n but ... ?
