Misdemeanor in 2003, Can I Get License?

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about getting into insurance sales and I want to know if I will qualify for a license in N.C.. In 2003 I was arrested twice. One for misdemeanor larceny, and the other was dui.Thanks.

The larceny may make it tough depending on what type of insurance you are interested in selling. The DUI would have little if any impact.

You have 2 challenges here. One is getting licensed in NC the other is getting appointed by a carrier to offer the insurance products. If you cannot get appointed by a carrier then obtaining your licenses would be pointless.

What lines of insurance are you wanting to sell?

Did the larceny arrest result in a conviction? If so, for larceny or did you plead guilty to a different offense?

I don't think it will have too much of an impact considering it was approximately 13 years ago. Nor do I think it will impact the appointment process for you.

Hopefully you are working with/for someone initially. It would be hard to go out on your own to start.
