Another reason why Obama wins again, this is out of control. Do you think people's vote can be bought??:1err:

Insurers Push Back On Consumer Rebate Letter - Kaiser Health News

But the industry and the Obama administration are at odds over proposed language in the letter that goes with the checks as well as who gets notification. The administration may require insurers to send notices about rebate ruleseven to customers who aren't getting a rebate.
America's Health Insurance Plans, an industry lobby, called that "unnecessary and illogical." It also objects to a proposed message for rebate recipients that mentions the health law in the second sentence, describing the language as "inflexible and highly prescriptive."
"This letter is to inform you that you will receive a refund of a portion of your health insurance premiums," the letter starts off. "This refund is required by the Affordable Care Act — the health reform law."
Republicans say the proposal forces industry to pay for what amounts to Democratic campaign literature weeks before the election.
"The fact that many individuals receiving this advertisement won't even be affected by this policy shows it to be merely propaganda," Rep. Joe Pitts, R-Pa., said in an interview. Pitts is chairman of the health subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce committee.

What happens if the law is overturned in June? Do the refunds still have to go out?

I imagine most folks will be disappointed in their rebates, if they get any at all.

I know Humana kept lowering rates in GA in order to avoid sending out any rebates. My guess is most of the carriers are using similar methods.

If the American public is stupid enough to re-elect this clown they deserve what they get. When Carter left the WH I was so relieved and never thought I would live long enough to see someone who was worse.

Obviously I have lived too long . . .

My wife says life insurance is easier to collect than alimony. Do you think there is a message there?

Here is a question I can not get an answer on.

If carriers are using a deductible credit is that the same as an MLR rebate?

Just my logic (a guess): MLR is based on actual paid out amounts. deductible credits that are unused would not cause an out of pocket cost to the insurer. But, if deductible credit is hit and used, then I would assume those "dollars" are spent by the insuerer to pay the providers and would count towards MLR.

Hound, I have restructured my business model to the point where there is almost no interaction with the prospect.

Had a 22 yr old on my site earlier today. He reviewed 3 different applications, 3 carriers, 3 very different plans. Premiums range from $45/mo to $113.

I can make anywhere from $4 to $9 per month . . . plus renewals.

At one time I would pick up the phone and call. Can't justify doing that any more.

This was not my idea but I hope the folks that voted for this clown are happy now.

Somarco, hasn't anyone told you that we are part of the Healthcare cost problem? Of course paying Govt. navigators will be much better (sarcasm).
