Hey guys,

Are the Simplified FE products offered by these 2 carriers pretty much the same thing?

Are they priced the same?

Are they underwritten the same?

Do they pay the agent in the same manner?

What is the benefit of using one over the other?

Both Aegon companies, looks like they are trying to make TA the dominant player.

Prior to 3/18, TA family market agents had access to both the TA final expense plan and Monumental. After 3/18, TA agents only have the new TA product which is EXACTLY the same as Monumental.

As of now, Monumental is going nowhere. When TA said Monumental is being phased out; it was a poor choice of words. What they really meant to say is the Monumental product will not be available to TA family market agents as there is no longer any practical reason to do so.

Both products are exactly the same with different distribution channels.

I was told no the last time I called. One time I called I was told yes. My upline seemed to indicate it depends on the distribution channel. Long story short, I get a different answer every time I call TA. Nobody can seem to explain it sonit is understandable. I was also told by one group who apparently gives decent size FMOs their contracts that Monumental was captive now.

Monumental was captive now.

Monumental has always been a captive company. They have a full portfolio of Par WL, Term and Annuities. Very Similar to Lafayette or Western-Southern. Even has some agencies with Debit routes in urban cities.

The Monumental Solutions Product was an attempt to enter the FE market using independent channels of distribution. This product was not available to the Captive Field force for Monumental.

The Plan was to merge the Monumental Solutions product with Trans when they merged Stonebridge and Trans effective 8/2011 and when Trans stopped selling their FE product on 1/2012.

As with all things Aegon.....they are slow.
