Just heard this AM that Dodd and Dorgan will not run this Nov. Great news on this cold morning. I dont know about Dorgans chances of re-election but Dodd was going to get his ass kicked, especially with his history of coruption. On another important note in Mass., electing Scott Brown to take the "Boozers" seat will be a game changer on Jan 19th.. His election will drop this health care "bill" dead in it's tracks. Spread the news on helping Scott Brown on Jan 19th!!!

As discussed many times, it is not just a matter of which senators and reps bite the dust, it is also the impact on the current ones and the ones remaining. You have lots and lots of senators and congresmen who will not be beaten but will have to shift further and further to the center right in order to survive. This will and is making a big difference on how far the socialist agenda can advance. The socialists are doing pretty well so far. If the conservatives or moderates want to stop them then just do it - or not. You string a couple bad days together for the dems and pretty soon they could be having a bad week......and a couple bad weeks........

Each time this theory about the dems having to shift to the right has been layed out, Al has disagreed with it. That alone is proof that is right and will have a major impact on what can be passed. Al only looks at who is in the White House and who wins or loses. Not at any of the factors that impact policy. Thus, Clinton was a two term winner, except that he got forced to the center from the far left and ended out being a major proponent of welfare reform. Similarly, you will start seeing Obama getting religion around jobs and national security mighty quick, as in right as we speak. He couldnt care less about the national debt right now but as we are seeing, each day closer to the election is going to bring another wake-up call.

Big mistake to let the health reform bill slip into 2010. Big mistake. It will still be Kool-Aid but it will be watered down Kool-Aid with half of those who voted for it running against it by claiming they are going to amend it.

Quick question for Harry Reid and Pelosi: Having fun yet?

Bart Gordon of Tennessee (D) is retiring this year. Bad thing is he didn't vote for the house HC Bill

Not to worry. That puppy over in Arkansa. Blanche Lincoln or whatever her name is will be looking for a job soon. Nothing like being a dem senator in a state that went with McCain and then voting for the Obama gimmicks. Maybe she and Mary Landrieu and open up a "business". She is history.

Of note: I am not completely sure that Kennedy's seat is going to go to a democrat. Most likely it will but I am just sayin I dont think it is a slam dunk. Yeh. Taxachusetts is a commie state but they are a mixed bag too. Keep in mind that Romney was governor there and somehow got elected as a republican. New Jersey is a dem state too but that didnt help out much in guber elections. And then there is Virginia.

By God, I think we are talking about change you can believe in right there!

Not that I shift either way, but there are 6 Reps retiring as well. If the exedus is due to corruption, or the forcast of a lost election - it's almost equal on both sides.

We need to replace 535 of them with insurance salespeople, then our problems would be solved, and Bin Laden would hang for sure. :)

Proud Kentuckian in Mitch McConnell's wasteland...

Dodd was moved out by the democrats. That was a smart move on their part. They can probably salvage the seat by moving him out. That's fine. He simply needs to go.

Dergen, the North Dakota guy truly retired. He is doing okay in the polls but has been at it for 40 years. Nevertheless, he is a dem in a republican state so it is going to be a net loss for the democrats there. And you only need to knock off a few to end their 60 vote majority.
That is going to happen. The dems are struggling hard enough to get any legislation passed. Any loss of dem votes, even it is just one (and believe me it will be at least one) threatens their entire agenda.
