MP to FE Transition

Has anyone here transitioned from mortgage protection to final expense? I sell MP and am thinking of making the switch to FE. And I was wondering if there is anyone in here who has been through a similar situation? Thanks in advance.

I did it and it was seamless. I was a top 15 produder with NAA and last year I was top 10 with EFES.

They tell me at EFES that I'm one of the few that have made the transition. I don't know why that would be the case.

Of course, I've always just sold insurance. When I was running NAA leads, if the non med was not in the client's best interest, I didn't go that route.

When running EFES leads, if they sent in the card for $100,000 term, that's what I sell them.

I worked with both for the leads and the opportunity to get in front of people. The products are secondary. I find their needs and wants and then do what I can to provide that.

I have and it seems to be working out pretty good so far. Why are you thinking about making a switch?

Why did you make the switch?
I got tired of having to work only nights and/or weekends because I'm married with three daughters. Also, the few FE appointments I ran, I couldn't believe how incredibly simple (easy, quite frankly) they were compared to the mortgage protection appmts.

Welcome to FE! One of the nice things about the sale is that most of the people you're meeting are aware that there will be a life claim in the relatively near future compared to MP in which they sometimes feel it's more of a hypothetical than a reality. Point is the need is a little easier to convey and their reading their friend's obituaries helps create the sense of urgency.

Yes, same reasons, I have a family and my day generally starts after 6:00 P.M. So that is another question I have. Your saying FE is easier to sell than MP. I think MP is pretty easy just don't know what to expect with FE. My current FMO once tried to do final expense and they did a campaign with dialer leads. They picked three of us to run the leads. I received about 20 dialer leads. I worked them for two days going door to door( no calling) I only sat with 3 and sold all three for about 2,600 AP. The other agents didn't make any sales. So they discontinued the program. But I really enjoyed working with the seniors and daytime. Never went back to the other 17 that I didn't get a hold of because we had so many MP leads to work in a closer county. But I always did wonder what would have come out of it.

Trust me, I have been doing my homework and the ones on this board who have been making a successful living out of only selling FE mainly rely on direct mail with a few other types of marketing added in. You need to bank on somehow having a flow of between 20-30 leads per week either through direct mail or other sources. Depending on who your contracted with, you can get FE mailers between$350-$400 per 1000. Also you can bank on an average return of between 1% and 1.5%. In regards to the dialer leads, you've got to give them at least 20k + names and numbers for it to create a good return which means, depending on where you live, that you might have to be willing to drive 1.5 hours + to the appointments. Hopefully, you can get enough in one area but sometimes you may just have to be willing to go on the appointment regardless.
