Nationwide Agents in Florida

Can someone help explain to me what Nationwide is doing with their agents in Florida? I've heard a few different things. Are they completely cutting them out of Nationwide (maybe then moving to independents) or still keeping them as Nationwide agents, but allowing them to have other appointments?

Thanks for clarification.

I have a good friend who is a manager with Nationwide here in Florida, he tells me that they are transitioning them all to becoming independent agents. They were always allowed to have other appointments.

They are afraid of loosing business because of all the hurricanes happening. In texas i wrote this once policy customer was in tier 1 his windstorm policy alone is 18000 that is through TWIA, and his BOP is around 8000. Nationwide does not want to loose money bottom line, there afraid if a Katrina might happen again
