Hey guys!

I've been an Allstate call center rep for 16 months. We're licensed P&C agents who can write policies, answer questions, do endorsements, and etc. However, I got fed up with them and am looking to start my own independent agent business. 2 other people who live with me have the exact same experience and are looking to do the same thing. We're all P&C licensed looking to do L&H as well.

Any thoughts would be great on what would be the best thing to do. All 3 of us are in Charlotte, NC. We all have degrees or in the process of completing them. Eventually we all will move to Raleigh/Durham probably after 3 years.

I also like candle-lit dinners, moonlight walks, and cliches.

I live in Raleigh. Call me 252-292-3350...Greg.

Actually,
I heard they were closing down that call center & outsourcing all the jobs to an overseas call center.

Quite a few folks there have been looking for jobs I've been told and many are P&C licensed!

Do you have any insight on that or is it just an internet rumor?

That is highly doubtful. The NC office is the top-performer and Allstate is opening another call center in Idaho. And, being a licensed insurance rep, you would know that it's not possible to have insurance reps in another country like India because those people don't have a home state for licensure. I'm sure Allstate would have done it already if it was possible.

Allstate was trying to phase out direct agents according to some people I heard inside the center, that is their rumor. I'm sure direct agents would attest to it though.

You are correct, just rechecked my source.
Guess I thought they were licensed but he meant they could easily be licensed and they were used to working with Allstate Insureds. I had a brain fart....hard to be a licensed agent from overseas.

It is the Roanoke jobs being outsourced to Northern Ireland. Not licensed but very good at working with consumers! Guess the folks answering the call center will have a bit of an Irish Brogue in their accents! ;)

They do, it makes the reps sound very sexy actually. That is where all the technical support agents are for the call centers :D
