Been in underwriting for about 5 years and thinking of going into sales. COmpany I work for pushes life and lets the p and c take care of itself (csr's). Trying to plan strategies, etc. and what would be a reasonable first year sales goals for premium volume? 250k-300k-500k? I have no idea....live in large town and know lots of folks. would like to concentrate on personal lines and farm/commercial business. have spoken with agent that would hire me and pay 24000 salary for 2 years with 30% new and renewals. after 2 years just 40% on new and renewals with no salary.....Any help on my planning would be greatly appreciated.
