Hi dear Insurance community,

My name is LeAnne, and I currently live in Portland, OR, having moved from the San Francisco Bay Area nearly 3 years ago now.

After my beloved Mom passed suddenly and tragically on December 30th, 2018, we found out that she didn't leave our family with even a stitch of help, that a final expense policy would've given us. Though we were all happy to do so (we love her so much), we had to pay for her entire burial, memorials, viewing...everything, on our own. When I watched, with heartbreak, how Mom not having a thing prepared upended my surviving family members (we had one of our nastiest fights, as a family, because I suggested we start a gofundme campaign for her), and soberly learning that very, very few people have their final expenses tidied up at the end, I decided right then and there, the first week of January of this year, that I wouldn't let what happened to my family, happen to anyone else, if I could at all help it. I studied up, took my state life insurance exam, and passed on the first try  What started as a mission of mine, has turned into something unexpected: I do love the final expense insurance biz, and have had a fast start in the insurance industry, with the last IMO I was with. That was nice ❤️
I still commute to the bay area, as I'm also a professional stage and film actor, and have deep ties in the bay area community. Due to moving between Oregon and California as a field underwriter, and watched the amount of miles I've put on my car, not to mention what I've poured into my car's upkeep and gas costs, punctuated by a terrifying situation out on the field, where I was nearly hurt by a criminal with a felony record in May, I decided to become a virtual Final Expense agent: I'm just very grateful to have found this industry, which I would not have, had my beloved Mom had her final expenses arranged and paid for....it's always curious to me, how life can take us in a different direction we never expected to go.

Thanks to Sam and this community, for creating this forum, and for being here. I've been learning a lot, from all of you.

Now, back to lurking.....
