New Guy Here - Los Angeles, Getting Started...

Hey everyone, thought I would stop by and introduce myself...

Name is Bryan, and I'm really grateful to a lot of you on the boards, as I've been reading for quite a while as I consider where to work/getting started.

I've decided to go non-captive, and am in the middle of pre licensing currently. I started my sales career about 13 years ago at 14, telemarketing in the mortgage industry. I graduated early and managed/trained a teenage cold-calling staff from 16-18, and at 18 was licensed and writing loans nationwide, which I loved dearly until I decided I wanted to see the world a bit more. I've traveled the past couple years on a major publishing contract I have, but have been eyeing the insurance biz since I was involved in mortgages, and always knew it would be my career move when it came time, or at least my entry. . I still have a few months reserves, and have just moved to Los Angeles after spending about 10 months in London. I'm comparing Final Expense companies at the moment, as I'll be sitting for my exam in about 2 weeks. My goal is to master final expense, as well as a few products that may be cross-sold down the line.

That was probably too much to share for an introduction...but I figured, better to get it out there for anyone that wants the info! I'm looking to connect with a solid recruiter/company to begin as soon as I pass my exam.

Thanks for your time, anyone that read this far!

Continue being a great group of helpful people. Everything in the forum, good and bad, has been a huge help to me in my research.

How were you able to stay in England longer than 6 months?:skeptical:

Hahahahahahahaha

I was actually just using London as a hub to do some traveling. Girlfriend also had some jobs in London and Paris that kept us around.

Not in any rush to leave this sunshine though!

I mean, what kind of visa did you have that allowed you to stay longer than 6 months.

Ohhh I see... Sorry for the confusion! It's called a writer, performer, and artist visa... I have a contract with Sony/ATV going on 4 years now, and have worked extensively in the UK since my first year with them. I work wherever in the world an artist is working that wants to work with me. My publishing company takes care of visas.

And thank you for the welcome Todd! Nice to hear from you, as I've heard great things and read much from you on these boards.

Ok, that answers my question. Welcome to the forum and the insurance business.
