I work with a software company founded by a longtime benefits adviser (launching next month). Our goal is to help brokers diversify their commission streams through easy quoting of other services (payroll, HR services, etc.). We also want to make life easier for benefits brokers by helping them save time on annoying-but-essential administrative tasks.
Here are the challenges that we see facing benefits brokers:
-For health brokers: Unsure about the future of commissions
-Competition/poaching from big payroll companies who now sell benefits
-Need to diversify income stream
-Challenge of learning enough about new services in order to advise on them
-Desire to remain the primary "point of contact" with the client and not have someone from referred company steal the relationship.
There's an article in the sidebar right now called "Top Seven Challenges Facing Insurance Agents" -- we aim to help brokers overcome challenges like these. I'm here to listen, read the forums, and to find out what would make life easier for you.
Thanks.
